St Mary's College Senior School | Year 10 to 12

At St Mary’s College, the senior years are a time of purpose, independence and possibility. From Year 10 to Year 12, students are supported to grow in confidence, deepen their understanding of themselves, and prepare for life beyond school with clarity and direction.

SACE and Academic Pathways

All Senior School students undertake the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), with a broad range of subjects offered across Years 10, 11 and 12. Our curriculum spans the arts, sciences, humanities, languages and vocational education pathways, allowing each student to shape a program that reflects her interests and future goals.

Every girl is supported through personalised course and pathway counselling from Year 9, ensuring informed and confident subject choices. Our teachers are experienced in preparing students for both ATAR pathways and VET options, with a strong focus on achieving personal best and meaningful outcomes.

Career Pathways

At St Mary’s, we believe every student should graduate with a clear sense of direction and confidence in her next steps. St Mary's College graduates move on to university, TAFE, apprenticeships and employment, supported by strong connections with institutions including Adelaide University and Flinders University. Students also have access to SATAC guidance throughout the application process, ensuring a smooth and supported transition beyond school.

Wellbeing in Senior School

We recognise that the senior years bring both opportunity and challenge. Our wellbeing approach is embedded across all aspects of Senior School, with dedicated support for students’ academic, personal and social development.

Through the WRAP program, led by Care Group Teachers in partnership with the Social Work Team, students engage in wellbeing learning that supports resilience, respectful relationships, self-awareness and positive decision-making. Grounded in strong relationships and a wrap around approach to care, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning while feeling known and supported throughout their senior years.

Leadership and Growth

Leadership is an integral part of the Senior School experience. Students are encouraged to take on meaningful roles, contribute to student-led initiatives and use their voice to shape the life of the College. These opportunities build confidence, agency and a strong sense of purpose, grounded in our values of community, justice and growth.

Graduating from St Mary’s is not simply the end of schooling - it is the beginning of a future shaped by confidence and capability. Our young women leave with a strong sense of identity, ready to lead and make a meaningful contribution to the world.

We acknowledge that we live, learn and work on the traditional land of the Kaurna people.
